Gem Veterinary Clinic

Dr. Mark Howlett, the owner of Gem Veterinary Clinic, came to Emmett in 2006 to take over the successful practice owned by the retiring Dr. Gerald Wilkins. He thought Emmett was the perfect place for him to practice his progressive high quality veterinary medicine and has been here ever since. Dr. Howlett’s goal for Gem Veterinary Clinic is to serve the needs of the people of Emmett, the Gem County, and their pets. He wants to fully educate the community on quality veterinary care as well as helping to manage the stray pet population.

Gem Veterinary Clinic focuses on small animals and livestock. They offer wellness/comprehensive exams, puppy and kitten vaccine packages, spays and neuters, senior wellness programs, dental programs and treatments, soft tissue orthopedic surgery, in-house laboratory testing, and radiology (digital x-ray); Dr. Howlett and his Associate Veterinarian, Dr. Jaime Paeschke, also make house calls. Gem Veterinary Clinic is unique in the fact that they not only care for small animals but also for livestock. They offer general livestock care, vaccinations, preg. checks, and offer Coggins/Health Certificates.

The services provided by Gem Veterinary Clinic are one of the many reasons we enjoy their presence in our community. Alongside their care for our community’s animals, they also do a lot of charity work and sponsor some of our major community events. Dr. Howlett and his staff at Gem Veterinary Clinic do veterinary work for the Pet Adoption League of Gem County and Simply Cats of Boise at a very reasonable discount. They are also one of the top sponsors of the Gem County Relay for Life and the Love at First Walk. They are actively involved in supporting the community with a High School student mentorship program.

Besides providing outstanding support to our community, Gem Veterinary Clinic’s mission is to treat your pet as a part of their family. You can always be sure that your pet is in good hands. If you mention reading this ad, you can receive $20 off of your pet’s wellness exam and vaccines. Visit Dr. Howlett, Dr. Paeschke, and the rest of the staff of Gem Veterinary Clinic at 703 S. Washington Ave. They are open Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. They look forward to your visit!
