Ribbon Cutting-Patriot Center/Summit Youth Academy
“Preparing Today’s Youth for a Brighter Tomorrow”, the Patriot Center/Summit Youth Academy provides high quality, caring and powerful opportunities to stabilize family and child situations in Idaho communities.
With a long history in our community beginning as the Pratt Ranch in 1972 by the Pratt family fostering a troubled teen on their ranch, to what it is today, a residential in-care treatment agency that works with boys ages 9-18. In 2011 the Fear Family took ownership and changed the name to Summit Youth Academy with the location operating as the Patriot Center. Goals of the 24 hour staff-secure facility are teaching and promoting family community resolution and helping individuals make more informed decisions. They aide their in-care residents to gain access to services that will help improve their lives in the future.
The Patriot Center provides a broad range of cognitive behavioral approaches. Helping young people change the thinking patterns that support their fears and emotional response. Offering individual and group clinical services which include Individual Service Plan (ISP), group therapy, group process meetings, skills classes, individual counseling, family services, accountability, behavioral correction and medication management by a medical doctor or nurse practitioner. The Patriot Center also has a cooperative agreement with Emmett School District/Black Canyon Educational Center to provide all educational needs for the residents.
The Patriot Center/ Summit Youth Academy is located at 330 W. Main Street. The hours of operation are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
