The Everest Group Wealth Management

Just as Mount Everest is the highest mountain on Earth, retirement is the largest financial decision most people will make in their lifetime. To help you with the climb, The Everest Group Wealth Management has a team of guides at the ready.

Celebrating the launch of their new business name, The Everest Group hosted a crowd of clients, business partners, friends and family for a grand opening and ribbon cutting on Feb. 20. Their expansion as a full-service financial firm has prompted their renaming, but The Everest Group is not new to Gem County. Now in its seventh year locally, The Everest Group has been guiding folks from throughout the nation toward financial security.

“We want to be everyone’s personal CFOs,” Managing Partner Justin Walker said. “Our job is to help people with a financial strategy to achieve that highest financial peak of their lives.”

To do that, the team uses a five-step approach:

  • Meet
  • Discover
  • Analyze
  • Recommend
  • Implement & review

You’ll bring your financial records to the first meeting. From there, an individual assessment will be made: Where are you financially and where do you want to go? Your information will be analyzed and recommendations made based on a number of factors: short- and long-term goals, age, risk tolerance and more. Then the team will help you implement your plan. Finally, and most importantly, your plan will be reviewed on a regular basis to make sure it’s working for you.

“Somehow, a million dollars became the magic number. I don’t know why,” Walker said. “You don’t need to have a million dollars to retire.” On average, he said, most retirees have less than $500,000 in liquid assets. Those who retire comfortably also have something else: a strategy. “If we proactively make good decisions, a comfortable retirement is something we can achieve,” and The Everest Group can help you with that, he said.

Walker and Managing Partner Jeremiah Vickery have averaged a new staff member each year for the last four years. They’re joined in the office by Financial Services Professional Jason Pollock, Director of Client Services Tom Vickery, Office Manager Janet Peters, and Administrative Assistant Michelle Hicks.

The company, under the umbrella of MassMutual Financial Group, operates on commission, meaning the services are not fee-based. “It won’t cost people anything to come in and talk to us,” Walker said. The office is located at 2005 E. Quail Run Rd., Ste. 2, in Emmett. For more information, call 724-2291.
