GEM COUNTY AREA CAMPGROUNDS
Antelope Campground
One of four campgrounds in the Sagehen Recreation Reservoir area, Antelope offers a beautiful setting and much to do for outdoor enthusiasts. There are two sections, Antelope and Antelope Loop (sites 22 - 29). Antelope Loop is more rustic and located outside the campground.
Camp sites are irregular, nestled among ponderosa pines. Aprons are paved in Antelope and dirt in Antelope Loop with many flat areas for tents.
Berry gathering, mushrooming picking, fishing, hunting, boating, and nature walks are popular activities. Several hiking trails offer scenic trips through the heavily wooded ponderosa pines. A fishing trail helps shore fishermen to find the perfect spot to cast a line.
Sagehen Nature Trail offers a .5 mile walk and another unnamed trail connects the campgrounds to the dam. Fishing for Rainbow Trout is exceptional as 8,600 trout were recently stocked.
Summer temperatures are from about 80 - 90 degrees with cool nights.
