GCCC Ambassadors Help PALS

PET ADOPTION LEAGUE (PALS)
GETS HELP FROM AMBASSADORS & COMMUNITY

Gem County is blessed with a non-profit, no-kill, all-volunteer animal shelter, Pet Adoption League (PALS). PALS placed over 180 dogs and cats in the past two years.

PALS, who relies solely on donations, recently received a financial boost from the Gem County Chamber of Commerce (GCCC), GCCC Ambassadors and the many Gem County businesses and residents who attended Emmett Community Steelheads Night in January.

pals ambassadorsPALS representative Alyson Boldon attended the February 2008 GCCC Ambassadors meeting where she accepted a check for $600 to assist PALS programs.

For the past two years, GCCC Ambassadors have helped organize Emmett Community Steelheads Night. For every ticket sold in our community, $1.00 goes back to a chosen non-profit. In 2007, the Emmett Food Bank received the donation.

PALS provides lost and found services, adoptions services and educational services. There is a 4H-sponsored dog walk/fundraiser called "Love-At-First-Walk" where you can help raise funds by walking your dog.

PALS does not receive any monies from the City or County for their services and looks to the community for all of their funding.

PALS is located at 1526 N. Washington and can be reached at (208) 365-1359. Their website is http://www.emmett-pal.org/ and has hours of operation as well as pets available for adoption.
